Everyone’s favorite family of superheroes is back in “Incredibles 2”–but this time Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) is in the spotlight, leaving Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson) at home with Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell) and Dash (voice of Huck Milner) to navigate the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life.
It’s a tough transition for everyone, made tougher by the fact that the family is still unaware of baby Jack-Jack’s emerging superpowers. When a new villain hatches a brilliant and dangerous plot, the family and Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Jackson) must find a way to work together again–which is easier said than done, even when they’re all Incredible.
Well it’s been too long since the original film, 14 years to be exact. This sequel still brings the same feel good vibes as the original and it will be interesting to see the audience demographic watching this film. I was in my early twenties when I saw the original and only wanted to watch this for nostalgic reasons.
30 mins into the film and you sense real danger the characters are going through and emotions as well. The characters haven’t changed a bit and while I don’t think the villain in this film is as strong as the original, there are other elements which delight like the appearance of Edna Mode.
Jack Jack’s powers are explored in this film too and how the family deals with it was quite a joy to watch.
Rating: 4 out of 5 Stars
