For the past 10 years, Marvel has been building up it’s ultimate big bad – Thanos. We first saw him sitting on a floating chair in the post-credit scenes of Marvel’s The Avengers.
What does he want? The six infinity stones, unite them in his Infinity Gauntlet and, destroy half the galaxy. Why? we’re not sure yet.
At the end of Civil War, The Avengers was still split, although Captain America did leave Iron Man a burner phone for emergencies. Two years later, Captain America has given up the shield and his star-spangled identity. Wanted by the U.S. government, Cap and Black Widow and Falcon are flying under the radar.
Infinity War was meant to come in two parts, with the sequel coming out next year May.
However, the Russo brothers have stated that two movies are going to be “very, very different”, and hence they’ve decided not to call it Infinity War part 1 and 2.
Thanos may be the biggest Big Bad in Marvel Comics, but his quest for “rebalancing the universe” will end by Avengers 4. Subsequent films in Marvel Cinematic Universe will follow another storyline and it is not clear what it will be.
Avengers: infinity War will have 76 characters and is expected to be 2 and a half hours long
Evans has confirmed Avengers 4 will be his last film with MCU. Evans had signed with MCU for six Marvel movies and extended his contract to include the seventh one, which is Avengers 4.
