The crazy lineup of Geek culture celebrities in this year’s STGCC was certainly amazing however tucked right next to the main stage was the Artist Alley where fans could buy everything from geek culture t-shirts to prints and sketches from their favorite artist. Each and every booth; unique in their own right, sharing the craft and showcasing their talents. Kenny Chen takes a walk through this year’s Artist Alley and shares his thoughts.
The Artist alley this year was expanded in scale as compared to the previous year’s mainly because of the crazy number of talented folks hailing from the region coming down to share their stuff with us.
Unlike previous years, the artist alley saw an increase in diversity of stuff; no longer would you find booth after booth selling the badges of the same anime character; fans of western comics could meet their favorite artist – and get their sketches and prints signed!
For the more extroverted geeks who’s not afraid to wear their hearts on their sleeves, Xmashed Gear has you covered with their extensive range of geek culture shirts ranging from Game of Thrones to Pokemon. One might think that the artist gallery would only feature geek culture, however one could also find political satire from the 好公民 A Good Citizen booth where one could buy shirts and prints that are “Uniquely Singapore”
