Yup, looks like someone got the whole the world will end thing wrong… AGAIN! Not that it is the first time someone actually tried to put a date to the end of the world but yeah whats new right? haha… Guess these doomsayers gotta find something better than the Mayan Calendar to spin their stories.
Anyways with the world not ending, it means that I get to write the first editor’s note for the new year. 2013 marks 2 years that POPCulture Online has been around and looking at how 2012 has been for the team, the new year looks to be an even more exciting one.
But before we jump ahead of ourselves here, being one of the co-founders, I have decided to abuse my powers and make the team look back at 2012 and share with everyone what their top 5 items were. From movies to game and even the bad guys, 2012 has been rather memorable year and what better way to pay tribute then to list out our favorites.
Of course no point looking back without looking forward and in this issue of POPCulture Online, we also look at the movies to look out for in 2013 starting with Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters. Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton stars in this continuation to the fairy tale Hansel and Gretel by the Brothers Grimm and from the trailer alone, this looks to add to my must watch list.
I would also like to take the time to announce changes to the POPCulture Online team. Starting out as guest contributors first (the initiate rank here at POPCulture Online), we have Alex and Yuxuan joining the photographers team and the writers team respectively. Both have been impressive during their trial period and I do look forward to seeing more of their contributions.
I am also pleased to announce that both Ken and Nicholas have both been promoted to the rank of Digital Artist and Videographer respectively after lots of hard work done in 2012. As POPCulture Online’s content base start to grow even more and we take on more events, I am very sure both Ken and Nicholas will continue to aid the team in reaching our objectives.
Last and not the least, from the entire POPCulture Online team, we would like to wish all our readers a very Happy New Year!
