Sing Jazz 2015 has officially kicked off with the Gala Night of spectacular performances from both local and international acts.

Opening the Festival was Sing Jazz Emerging Jazz Vocalist of the Year Award winner Melissa Tham, who was conferred the title by Minister of Culture, Community & Youth, and 2nd Minister of Communications & Information in recognition of her efforts & achievements in the music industry.

Cameroonian jazz bassist Richard Bona followed after Melissa’s beautiful solo, but the night was summed up by a true legend – Chaka Khan. Electrifying the audience with Incognito, the “Queen of Funk” got the crowd up and dancing at their seats with all-time favourites such as “I Feel For You” and “Ain’t Nobody”.
