The trailer for the upcoming OVA, Rurouni Kenshin: Shin Kyoto-Hen has been released. This will be a 2 part OVA project and is a remake of the Kyoto arc (the second arc in the original anime series). The story will be told from the viewpoint of Makimachi Misao.
Director Kazuhiro Furuhashi will be back with Studio Deen to reunite with the original cast of the anime to do the project after nine years. Only the character Saito Hajime will not be voiced by Hirotaka Suzuoki (who past away in 2066) and will be voiced by Ken Narita instead.
Rurouni Kenshin: Shin Kyoto-Hen is set to debut in Japanese theaters on December 17 and while there is no news of an overseas release yet, Aniplex (America) are in “negotiations” for the English rights to the project.
