British pop star Pixie Lott was in town recently for her Young, Foolish, Happy tour and performed in her first ever showcase in Singapore. It was quite an exciting experience as Pixie had many different events that were centered around meeting her fans who express how grateful they were to their idol for taking the time to meet them.
She started her Asian tour with a round of interviews by the media and then headed to Topshop at Knightsbridge where 2 lucky fans got the opportunity to shop and be styled by Pixie Lott herself.
The highlight of her second day in Singapore was an autograph session at Bugis Junction where she flaunted her bright smile to a sea of crazy cats and curious on-lookers, for her first ever Autograph Session in Singapore!
The main event on day 2 was when Pixie Lott performed to a crowd of 800 Crazy Cats at an exclusive showcase at Zirca. It was an intimate performance that got the crowd dancing and roused up to a great night where she serenaded us with her hits singles like ‘All About Tonight’ and crowd favourites ‘Cry Me Out’ and ‘Bright Lights’!
POPCulture Online managed to steal a few minutes of Pixie’s time to ask her a few questions.
POPCulture Online: Tell us a bit about “Young Foolish Happy” and what was the inspiration for this album?
PIXIE LOTT: I named this album after a song from when I was growing up by the Tams, “Be Young, Be Foolish, Be Happy” – a good message to everyone.
POPCulture Online: Could you tell us about your musical influences?
PIXIE LOTT: My musical influences from young are Stevie Wonder, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Otis Redding, Donny Hathaway, Motown.
POPCulture Online: Is there a particular artiste you would like to collaborate with in future and why?
PIXIE LOTT: Well, I have collaborated with Stevie Wonder on my album “Young, Foolish, Happy” where Stevie play the harmonica on the middle 8 but I would love Stevie to actually sing on a track with me.
POPCulture Online: What would you be doing if you weren’t a singer?
PIXIE LOTT: Hmmm, I’d say either an actress or dancer, anything in the entertainment business.
POPCulture Online: What are your plans for the rest of the year? Any chance we will see you on TV or in a movie soon?
PIXIE LOTT: Nah, but I’m going to write and record my next album.
POPCulture Online: We know you are a big football fan so how would you rate England’s chances at this years Euro Championship?
PIXIE LOTT: I really hope England do well and work as a team, I will be supporting them all the way.
