Are you ready for more Marvel Movie madness? I tell you what….these movies won’t ever grow old. I don’t think anyone is tired of these ever evolving movies! How does Captain America: Civil War measure up to the rest of the films?
Let’s find out!
The Plot
Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War finds Steve Rogers leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity.
But after another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team.
The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two camps-one led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark’s surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability.
The Good
While I was so excited for this film, I was skeptical because I am a very big fan of the original comic book. But if it’s one thing I’ve learnt, The Russo brothers can reinvent any superhero film. Just look at how they handled The Winter Soldier. They completely shifted the tone from Captain America: The First Avenger.
Although this movie doesn’t feature as many characters as the comic, each and every character has a chance to shine and you would find yourself agreeing with each of their various reasons to fight.
Let’s talk stand out characters. Black Panther has to be one of the stand out players for me. He’s the most serious of all the members and he oozes confidence and coolness. I have to say, my new favourite character of the franchise. Definitely looking forward to the solo movie.
Spider Man is one of the characters that many have been looking forward too especially now that it is back in the hands of Marvel Studios. Tom Holland has to be the best Spider Man ever! His portrayal so so spot on it’s practically ripped out of the pages of the comic book. I am beyond impressed!
The Bad
Wish there were more characters……and this movie already has the largest roster, now I’ll have to wait for Infinity War!
Rating: 4.5 out of 5 Stars
It is quite serious film but the moment Paul Rudd appears, you get a very nice balance of tone!
