We last saw Agent Phil Coulson take one for the team in the movie Marvel’s The Avengers as Loki seemed to have put the agent out of commission as the bad guys took on S.H.I.E.L.D’s flying fortress. While many were left hanging if Agent Coulson really did die at the end of the movie, fans were definitely delighted to hear that director Joss Whedon will be working on a spin off series which centers around this very mysterious organization and that everyone’s favorite agent will be back.
In Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Agent Coulson is back in action as he assembles a small, highly select group of agents from the worldwide law-enforcement organisation known as S.H.I.E.L.D (Strategic Homeland Intervention Enforcement and Logistics Division for the uninitiated).
Expect a new whole perspective on the Marvel universe as we follow Agent Coulson and his team on their mission to investigate the new, strange and the unknown around the globe following the battle of New York in Marvel’s The Avengers.
Agent Coulson and his team will be tasked to investigate extra-normal and super human people and events worldwide. With the existence of superheroes and aliens now public knowledge after the battle of New York in Marvel’s The Avengers.
Joining Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) are Agent Grant Ward (Brett Dalton), who is highly trained in combat and espionage; Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen), an expert pilot and martial artist; Agent Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker), a brilliant engineer; and Agent Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge), genius bio-chemist.
Also joining them on their journey into mystery is computer hacker Skye (Chloe Bennet) who seems to have more connections to the mysterious organization known as The Rising Tide. What do they want and how do they fit into all this, only time will tell.
