A name that is no stranger to fans here in Singapore with her distinctive husky voice, Aimer has not only had albums to reach top 10 on the Oricon Chart but also sung for many popular animes such as Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works. We chat with the Japanese singer on her favorurite memory of Singapore and what’s next for her career.
Since making your debut back in 2011 till today, what is the most important lesson you have learned in your music career?
Aimer: After performing so many times, I’ve grown to be able to sing songs that “let me continue singing”.
What’s next for your music career?
Aimer: At my “hiver” tour this winter, I was finally able to lay the foundation for songs that make me excited about the future, so I hope to be able to express myself better. I’d also like to perform in a venue that is bigger than the Nippon Budokan.
Having performed here many times before, is there a favourite memory out of all your past trips to Singapore?
Aimer: It would be the time when I made a request to visit the Singapore Botanic Gardens. There were so many big trees and plants that you don’t see in Japan, and I once again felt the charms of Singapore’s rich soil and climate.
Do you have a message for your fans in Singapore coming to your concert?
Aimer: Thank you for always giving me a warm welcome at events. This is my first Asia Tour and I’m really looking forward to what kind of amazing night we will have together. I really love Singapore and would love to return as many times as possible.
We look forward to seeing you on 31st March!
