Henry Cavill to play Superman

Warner Bros. Pictures has announced that Henry Cavill will be playing the role of Clark Kent  / Superman in the upcoming Superman film. The film will be directed by Zack Snyder of the 300 fame and is targeted for a December 2012 release.

The British actor has played roles such as Humphrey in "Stardust" and Randy James in "Whatever Works". He recently also played the role of Charles Brandon in the television series "The Tudors".
