Special Guest Hitomi from @home Maid Cafe in Japan also had two sets of performances on stage to the delight of many of the visitors whom made the trip to EOY just to see her. With her infectious smile, energetic dance movies and cute personality, it is no wonder she is also the top maid at the @home Maid Cafe.
When asked POPCulture Online’s favorite interview question (which we have also asked many celebrities before), “If you can have one superpower, what would it be and why?”, Hitomi was all smiles when she repiled that she would like the power to make everyone she meets smile regardless of the situation. She continues to explain that different people have different smiles and with more smiles from different people, the better the day will turn out.
The event ended with Tim, the Chairman of EOY giving the closing speech and playing “Poem of Everyone’s Soul” from the popular Shin Megami Tenshi Persona 4. Even though not a pianist by training plus having not much time to practice with all the preparation for EOY, he did a pretty good job there.
While EOY may be seen as a simple cosplay event at first glance, dive deeper and you will find an event full of warmth and heart. From the little touches here and there such as the group of Medios welcoming you as you step inside to setting up the stage so that local talents have a chance to show what they can do, EOY is really so much more on the inside. It is always nice to end the year on a pleasant note and I guess EOY is just the event to do it.
