Did you know?

1. She is the daughter of actors Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith.

Her mother was soooo proud when her daughter got the role of Anastasia Steele that she tweeted it.

2. She thinks having famous parents is more boring than annoying.

Dakota once said in an interview that “It’s not necessarily annoying. I’ve come to understand the allure of that to other people, how it seems so interesting and different. But for me it’s just my family, it’s the way I grew up and it’s my mom and my dad. It doesn’t really bother me because I get it, but sometimes it’s kind of a drag to talk about.”

3. Her acting debut was alongside her mom and sister

Dakota made her first on-screen appearance in the movie “Crazy in Alabama” where she and her half-sister Stella Banderas played the daughters of their real life mother, Melanie Griffith. That’s not all, her stepfather Antonio Banderas directed the film as well. That’s pretty cool, least she can get a lift to and from work!

4. Her first taste of box office success was in 2010 with “The Social Network”

If you’re gonna rewatch the movie, she shares a scene with Justin Timberlake as his passing one night stand.

5. She went to rehab for drug and alcohol addiction in 2007.

Why are we not surprised? Even though it was just a short stint of 30 days, it definitely adds to her appeal!

Babe factor

In 2006, Johnson signed with IMG Models. Though acting is her primary work, she has since modeled for MANGO brand’s jeans line in 2009 and shot the “Rising Star” campaign for Australian fashion label Wish in 2011.
