Singapore’s biggest annual yuletide fair Christmas Wonderland at Gardens by the Bay returns this December for its fourth edition. Held from the 1st to 26th December 2017 from 4pm to 11pm daily, visitors will get to experience a bigger, brighter and more magical experience this year.

“Blue Sky Events has pulled out all the stops to present a bigger, brighter and the most magical festive playground with epic multi-sensory experiences. Crowd favourites have been upsized and we’ve introduced a wider variety of attractions from all over the world for the whole family to enjoy this year-end,”

said Ms Sarah Martin, Director of Blue Sky Events.

Admission to Christmas Wonderland starts from S$4, providing access to a myriad of attractions across the 57,000sqm fairground. Tickets can be purchased online at www.christmaswonderland.sg or at the event. Each paying adult can bring in up to three children under 0.9m free of charge. A child above 0.9m requires a ticket. Additional charges for some attractions within the event grounds apply.

New Carnival Attractions

New this year will be a 240sqm outdoor synthetic skating rink at The Meadow at Gardens by the Bay. Specially brought in from Switzerland, it will be framed by stunning luminarie light sculptures and will provide that perfect Instagram moment.

Christmas Wonderland at Gardens by the Bay will also see the Asian premiere of the highly-acclaimed Circus Abyssinia. Circus Abyssinia Present Ethiopian Dreams promises to enthrall with a mix of gravity-defying stunts, astounding skills and enchanting adventure. Circus Abyssinia Present Ethiopian Dreams will be performed at The Meadow on Tuesdays to Sundays and on Christmas Day.

For the young at heart, Asia’s largest Santa’s Grotto will boast boasts flying life-sized reindeers amid a starry nightscape, photo installations, an Alpine House decked in pinewood, a sled and photo opportunities with Santa Claus. All Santa’s Grotto visitors will receive a lucky draw ticket with a chance to win free carnival rides and games, Circus Abyssinia tickets, food and beverage vouchers and the Grand Prize of a trip for two to Lapland, Finland. Entry is free to all ticketholders.

This year, visitors will also see an enhanced and expanded dining experience with the addition of SAVOUR: Christmas Wonderland. Curated by Savour Events – the team behind Singapore’s premiere gourmet food festival brand SAVOUR – this special edition will feature celebrity chefs from award-winning restaurants such as Shoukouwa (2 Michelin Stars), Saint Pierre (1 Michelin Star) and Monti at Fullerton Pavilion offering dishes starting from as low as S$6. Traditional Christmas Wonderland favourites return bigger and brighter

Bring your cameras as the magnificent luminarie sculptures are back this year with brand new designs. These handcrafted sculptures of light from Italy will once again transform the fairground into a luminous wonderland. 252,000 multi-hued bulbs will light up over 70 luminarie sculptures, featuring the perennial favourite, the Spalliera – Southeast Asia’s tallest luminarie as well as for the first time a 13m-tall Christmas ‘tree’. Blizzard Time at the Spalliera will be back this year where visitors can experience five sessions a day (up from last year’s three) of ‘snow’ in tropical Singapore. Visitors can also relax at the lawn as melodious choral performers belt out Christmas carols at the Cassa Armonica.

With twice the number of carnival rides – the most at Christmas Wonderland – there’s even more reasons for families with young children to play to their hearts’ content. Eight carnival attractions await little ones with traditional favourites such as a carousel, ferris wheel, bumper cars, tea cups and a Christmas train within the fairground. The traditional carnival games return where visitors can step right up to pit their skills at any of the 11 stalls, including Ring Toss, Pyramid Smash, Lobster Pot and Milk Can Toss.

Visitors can also dine and shop for unique trinkets at the European-style Festive Market at the Supertree Grove. Vendors include BOLD&CRAFT, The Raclette Factory and Propupstore. More vendor details will be released at a later date. The Supertree Grove is also home to a special edition of Garden Rhapsody, where visitors can sing along to popular festive tunes and be charmed by the delightful light show at the Supertrees.

A bundled ticket option that covers entry to both Christmas Wonderland and Gardens by the Bay’s conservatories at a discounted rate can be purchased online at www.gardensbythebay.com.sg starting today. On-site sales for the bundled ticket option will start from 1 December for the purchase of actual-day bundled tickets.

This Christmas season, the Flower Dome will showcase the Poinsettia Wishes floral display from 10 November to 8 January next year. Visitors will get to experience Nordic yuletide elements and enjoy plants of the season like poinsettias, amaryllis and Christmas trees.
