The Huntsman: Winter’s War review

Freya the Ice Queen (Emily Blunt) brings her sister Ravenna (Charlize Theron) back to life, and the powerful evil siblings plan to conquer the Enchanted Forest.

Only the Huntsman (Chris Hemsworth) and his secret lover Sara (Jessica Chastain) can stop them in this sequel continuing the inventive twist on the Snow White fable.

The Good

Charlize Theron! Oh my gosh even though her screen time is much lesser than the rest of the cast, she captures the entire cinema when she appears.

She brings out this mix of emotions with her character because on one hand you are in awe of her beauty and on the other hand you get scared when she shows her anger and uses her powers to kill.

The Bad

Well for starters I’m not sure if this sequel was necessary.

While I like Jessica Chastain, I felt her character was very forced into the story. Emily Blunt’s character was also disappointing because she was pushed aside the moment Charlize Theron appeared. In fact EVERYONE was pushed aside when Charlize Theron appeared which isn’t a good thing especially when you have an all star cast like this.

Huntsman

Rating: 2.5 out of 5 stars

Visually it is a very nice film and I would still recommend you watch this because Charlize Theron’s performance alone is worth it!
