Issue number 9 of POPCulture Online and this is our biggest issue to date. Seems like each time we think it would be the biggest issue, we come out with something bigger. One look at the content line up and it is not hard to tell what we have been up to over the past weekend.
In a way it is quite fitting too, considering Elliott and I coined up the idea to start a web magazine on popular culture during last year’s Singapore Toy, Game & Comic convention when it was held in December. So while this is not really an anniversary issue where magazines do something special, I think the amount of content we have this round sort of makes up for it.
I also want to take this chance to officially welcome our latest two additions to the POPCulture Online Crew. KangYi who will be handling most of the Tech Zone section on the online magazine when he is not too busy fanboying over Paul Levitz and our new part time video & photo guy, Nicholas who will be helping out with event coverage.
We definitely had a lots of fun over the 2 days st STGCC and I would like to thank the nice people at Reed Exhibition and Ninemer for the hospitality shown to the POPCulture Online crew from helping us to arrange make up interview(s) and additional requests. No thanks though to the coffee machine that just refused to work when I wanted my drink, but worked for everyone else in the media room.
Oh, and did I mention that I got a nice photo with the vocalist from Paramore, Hayley Williams? Think it more than made up for the fact that I did not get a photo with Kipi.
Last but not the least, I would like to thank my parents for being supportive of the crazy ideal Elliott and I had to camp early Saturday morning for the Hot Toys limited edition IronMan & Batman exclusives. Fetching us early to Suntec and providing 2 buns for breakfast while we waited enabled us to send our wallets on a diet but it was all worth it.
Ok enough of my longer than usual wall of text and I hope you, our readers enjoy this month’s issue as much as we enjoyed writing it. Oh and do check out the little video we did for STGCC
