Doctor Strange Review

Daring is the word I would use to describe this film. At first I thought Thor was the most daring but Doctor Strange will probably surpass that.

Benedict Cumberbatch has already proven that he was born to play the role just by looking at photos of him in costume.

Just how amazing is this latest offering from Marvel? Let’s find out.

The Plot

A disgraced former surgeon named Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) becomes a powerful sorcerer under the tutelage of a mystic known as the Ancient One (Tilda Swinton). Rachel McAdams, Mads Mikkelsen, and Chiwetel Ejiofor co-star in this entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The Good

The magic continues with Marvel’s 14th movie. A character not as popular as the likes of Iron Man or Captain America but extremely powerful and magical.

I went into this movie not watching any of the trailers or clips that were released before the movie screening. As a comic book fan, I honestly don’t know a lot about Doctor Strange, enough in terms of origins and I really wanted to surprise myself.

When I said the magic continues, I meant it because this movie features some next level CGI. It really is so amazing they way the characters enter the mirror zone and all the special effects with the “magic weapons” they conjure up.

The acting and character development is everything you’d expect in a Marvel film and for me Mads Mikkelsen remains one impressive actor! Love it when he plays the bad guy.

The Bad

What bad? I can’t even find any even if I wanted to try.

Rating: 4.5 out of 5 Stars

This is one trippy film! And please…..stay for 2 END CREDIT SCENES!
